Handing your business off to someone else is always tough. When my wife and I decided to transition from dog walking in Toronto to boarding dogs in the country, we were faced with a tough situation. Finding the right person to take over the love and care of the pack of dogs we had built over the last six years was a huge ask. Luckily, through some odd circumstances, just as we were approaching the last few months, the absolute perfect person came along: Kirstie Alcantara. She’s transferred Cuddles & Fetch’s dog walking clients into The Bark Rangers.
Kirstie had actually been our first choice when we were first considering the idea of hiring an employee to take over my walks, so we could buy a place in the country and I could split my time between doing design and caring for the dogs. Unfortunately, she got scooped up by another dog walking company before we were ready to make that move. We were able to find a fantastic employee when the time did come. So it was kind of amazing timing when we decided to make the move fully, and Kirstie was looking to go out on her own.
Kirstie is one of the few people I’d trust with my own dogs, so handing the leashes to her was a no-brainer. We’re very happy that it all worked out, and based on her instagram, the dogs are too!
